An international group of lighting designers based on elevating women, building connections & professional opportunities, business expansion, harmony, friendship and acceptance emerged several years ago.  This “non-membership” international network is based on building connections of love and success in the industry of lighting design.   The result is joyous and infectious!

Julie Conway from Illuminata Glass speaks with the founders of WIL, lighting designers Sharon Stammers and Martin Lupton of Light Collective.
Founded in 2017, Women in Lighting as a deliberately positive platform featuring women creating lighting in all forms from around the world.

ABOUT WIL, SHARON STAMMERS & MARTIN LUPTON

WIL is an inspirational and global digital platform that profiles women working in the field of lighting and lighting design. It aims to promote their passion and achievements, narrate their career path and goals. It aims to celebrate their work and increase the profile of women working in lighting to help encourage, support and inspire the next generation.

The WIL Website now features 170 interviews by international lighting designers from 87 countries and counting!

Ambassadors represent many countries to build community in their local areas. The platform is not membership based, so anyone can join.  Lighting designers, supporters, brand partners, and it is not just for women.

Light Collective are not a standard lighting consultancy… in fact, we really struggle to categorise ourselves given that our body of light based work is so diverse.

Our creative portfolio of work houses more than architectural lighting design and has grown to encompass many innovative projects which include light art installations, marketing projects, competitions, curated exhibitions, lighting awards, branding, trade stands and shows, epic parties, pop up events, guerrilla lighting, community projects, writing books, activism and light education.
